After the completion of the open tender stage, we already know which new official cars that the government bought. Three brands (Mercedes, Renault and Stellantis) received 31% of the total contract for the renewal of the fleet of public vehicles.
A few days ago we learned that Ministry of Finance and Public Administration approved a budget of almost 110 million euros for the renewal of the state mobile fleet.
According to the contract, in the coming weeks, the purchase of almost 10,000 vehicles will be distributed among state administrations, autonomous communities and city councils.
Purchase at open auction
The selection of brands and models that will be included in the State Mobile Park was carried out on the basis of an open tender.
Applicant companies could apply for one or more of eight lots divided into three broad groups:
- vehicles for passenger and multimodal transport: compact, medium and long combined models
- vehicles for freight traffic: compact, medium and long vans
- vehicles cab chassisboth medium and long
Mercedes, Renault and Stellantis benefited the most
Decided a public competition Mercedes, Renault D stellantis received the greatest benefit, receiving 31% of the total contract amount.
The star brand, through Mercedes-Benz Retail, received 10% of the total amount, i.e. about 11.33 million euros. Some of the selected brand models Mercedes Sitan, Mercedes Vito, Mercedes Sprinter and Mercedes EQV.
Renault through Renault España Comercial achieved the same percentage and budget. From the lineup were selected Renault Kangoo, Express and ZOE.
Stellantis became the third major beneficiary of the open tender. Through PSA Commercial Vehicles, 9.07 million euros were awarded; while with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Spain he signed a contract for 2.26 million euros. The following models are selected here: Citroën Berlingo and eBerlingo; Peugeot Rifter or E-Partner; Fiat Ducato, Iveco Daily and Maxus Deliver.
Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution takes another 9% of the government contract, about 9.81 million euros, for which it will supply the VW Caddy or Crafter. While Volvo Group Spain will be done with 2.07% of the contract, about 2.26 million euros.
