Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 Insider Preview build (version 22610). The most notable changes are the redesigned task manager, which now also uses Windows’ accent colors, and the addition of taskbar-related options in the Group Policy Editor for IT administrators.

Earlier this year, a new look was introduced to the Task Manager, including the addition of a dark mode. Now accent colors set in Windows are also used by the program’s user interface. You may encounter the standard blue color here and there to avoid poor readability.

Group Policy Editor, which allows IT administrators to restrict certain Windows features to employees, has received some new settings for the taskbar and start menu. For example, the search function can be blocked, the pin option disabled, and it is possible to hide the “All apps” button.

The build also includes some updates to the Family Safety Widget, a number of new icons and of course bug fixes. Windows Insiders in the ‘Dev’ and ‘Beta’ channels can install the new version.
