The United States space agency (NASA) featured two inventions in the 2022 edition of Time magazine’s annual Inventions of the Year rankings: the James Webb Space Telescope and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from the Artemis mission.

According to the magazine, the list includes revolutionary technological innovations that will change the life of humanity. It was released on November 10 this year and is divided into 27 categories.

James Webb Telescope

The James Webb telescope, which was put into orbit in the last days of last year, was nominated in the “Design” category. This year, the agency released the first images of the device and the entire world. breathless in front of wonders from space.

“We designed Webb to see the first lights burning in our universe. When I saw the first images released, I was surprised, stunned, and happy to know that Webb will be seeing whatever is out there.”

Rocket SLS

SLS, called “the best rocket in the world”, base for NASA’s Artemis missions, which will take humans to the moon once again. Developed in partnership with more than a thousand companies and 45 American states, the invention was nominated in the “Experimental” category.

Marked by constant delays, the mission should finally leave Earth in the early hours of Wednesday, November 16. “We will demonstrate the rocket’s capabilities on the Artemis I mission, the largest rocket NASA has built since Saturn V,” says NASA program manager John Honeycutt in a note released by the agency.
