According to some rumors OnePlus would have chosen to completely reposition the ‘Nord’ branding. The Chinese company wants to use the blue brand exclusively for entry-level products, putting the launch of new mid-range phones on standby – at least temporarily.
This theory has been relaunched by the GadgetGang site, which assumes a fact: it appears that the launch of the OnePlus Nord 3 has been cancelled. We currently have no information about the possible launch.
The next smartphone in the Nord line will be the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G, which will replace the currently commercially available Nord CE 2 5G. It is a low end phone with an affordable price and a decent, but not particularly advanced technical data sheet.
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G is rumored to release during the first quarter of 2023, possibly at the end of March. It seems almost certain that OnePlus will not present any other products from the Nord line in the meantime, which in fact indicates that the Chinese brand has completely changed its strategy. Recall that the brand was born with the OnePlus Nord, a mid-range phone that was born with the promise of offering a high-level technical data sheet at a price of less than € 400.
The OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G, on the other hand, does not have the calling to offer an uncompromising technical data sheet. It will mount a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC flanked by 8 GB of RAM. The phone will be equipped with a 6.7 ″ IPS LCD display, with FullHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. According to GadgetGang, it would be an LCD panel, not AMOLED.
