While the whole Earth is preparing to celebrate the new Christmas, the Hubble Space Telescope took interesting pictures of Christmas Eve. This is the dwarf galaxy NGC 4214, a vision full of young stars in formationand POT reveals some of its features.

NGC 4214 is a small, irregularly shaped dwarf galaxy located in the constellation Canis Hounds. It is one of the closest known dwarf galaxies to the Milky Way, at a distance of about 10 million light-years. NGC 4214 is actively forming starswith a high rate of star formation visible along its entire length.

The intense radiation and winds generated by these young stars sculpted the galaxy’s gas clouds into intricate patterns visible in a picture taken by Hubble. Meanwhile, bright star clusters scattered across the image are also areas of active star formation. This is where dense clumps of gas and dust collapse to form new stars.

As for the cavities seen in the image, they are thought to be created by powerful winds and radiation emitted by massive stars.. They can remove surrounding material and create pockets in the interstellar medium. Overall, NGC 4214 provides a fascinating laboratory for further study of star formation and galaxy evolution.
