It is ideal to fix the U-Scan in front of the toilet to use, i.e. users should use the sitting position to pee. Urine will go down a small collection port designed by the company to distinguish between urine and other liquids. A thermal sensor detects body fluid and sends it to the test capsule. When the analysis is finished, the residues are removed and the results are sent to the mobile phone via WiFi.
The Home Urine Test Cartridge is sold with quarterly test strips. “There is no need to remove the device when someone else is using the bathroom, as U-Scan can distinguish between user flow and visitor flow based on distance and jet velocity,” he explained. CNET Withings CEO Mathieu Letombe.
Two U-Scan cartridges – Nutri Balance or Cycle Sync – it can now be purchased at a price of 500 € (2,800 R $). As for the device, the retail price has not yet been determined, but it is expected to go on sale in Europe in the first half of 2023, and in the United States after approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
