Imane Anys admitted he had a problem with the gamble During a live with fellow Pokimane, the streamer known by the pseudonym xQc admitted he lost more than $1.8 million in just one month. “I have an addiction problem, now I play every day,” he said.
xQc is one of the most followed streamers on Twitch, between 2019 and 2021 – the massive leak at the beginning of the year revealed – he made more than $8 million just thanks to donations and subscribers to his channel. “I think people like to see people lose money, which is why gambling continues to be so popular on Twitch,” added xQc.
twitch allows streamers to broadcast their games live in the casino: From slot machines to blackjack, through a host of interactive prize games designed specifically to capture even the platform’s youngest audience. Streamers often make money from affiliates and business deals with casinos.
It threatens to become a double-edged sword, and stories like xQc’s show it clearly: gambling is often no longer a simple content that needs to be brought to life and becomes a real obsession. The streamer is no longer limited to playing live, but becomes completely addicted to the addiction. The issue has also been raised several times by the Italian Twitch community and in our country there are also cases of streamers who, by bringing the game live in hopes of making easy profits, have ended up developing serious forms of gambling addiction.

But the boy keeps it short: “Sometimes I lose money, it can happen.”
