The release of Intel’s Arc Alchemist desktop graphics cards may have been delayed again. Igor’s Lab has heard from multiple sources that the cards will be released in early July at the earliest, but may not be released until the end of August. Cause? Probably driver issues.
The cards were to be released this quarter. Earlier this week, there were rumors that it would launch in late May, but that may not be the case. According to Igor, it’s very unlikely that Alchemist GPUs will still undergo hardware changes, so drivers must be there.
Meanwhile, the prices of AMD and Nvidia’s graphics cards continue to fall. It seems that Intel has lost its chance to be the sole supplier of affordable graphics cards during this time of scarcity.
