Witnesses reported that Nicolás entered one of the pools and appeared lifeless in the water a few seconds later. EL TIEMPO found that the Santa Marta Health Secretariat ordered the investigation and took water samples from the family pool of the luxury hotel complex. The District Attorney’s Office is also trying to investigate the facts because another incident was recorded at the same place some time ago.
Following confirmation of the investigations, EL TIEMPO contacted renowned criminal lawyer Fabio Humar, spokesperson for Hotel Zuana. Who agreed to answer a few questions regarding the Moreno Panesso case recorded on December 26.
The official version is: Of course, we are ready to cooperate with the authorities. We stand in solidarity with the Moreno family. We understand that death is sudden within a few seconds. The hotel provided full cooperation, as with any possible event. The hotel is prepared for this and we take into account any requirements that justice or any other authority may impose. We understand that death occurs within a few seconds.

No we don’t have access. Currently only the family has access to the autopsy and of course if the family has any concerns, suspicions or authorities we will take care to address these to the best of our capacity.
Of course all channels Communication channels are open and we express our sorrow for this very painful incident. They were supported in the funeral transportation.

Absolutely not, absolutely not. Reason: The amount of time between one and the other rules out any possibility or any relationship. Secondly, I’m talking about the girl’s first case -and we have to say this very clearly and unequivocally- the hotel complies with all standards regarding the cleanliness, cleanliness and maintenance of its pools, this is very obvious, because otherwise they would not be open to the public.
Analyzes performed on the pools allow us to confirm that the pools meet all requirements for operation and being open to the public. Of course, we understand and express our sorrow to the family of the little one, but there is no connection between the two events.
Mr Nicolás’ death occurred within seconds and It happened suddenly; and we do not know the consequences regarding the death of the minor, which is still the subject of investigation. This has been going on for several weeks, there is no relationship whatsoever and we want to be completely reiterate and clear about this.
We didn’t know this. Of course, we pay attention to any requirements imposed by the justice system, not only criminal, but also administrative, the Prosecutor General’s Office or other institutions of the State. In this case, we do not have any information. We have had only brief contact with the family of the minor, but we do not have any information about the course of justice and, of course, in the event of an investigation under Zuana’s responsibility, we will be vigilant and ready to cooperate in whatever way is necessary. .
We have not been summoned and we deal with any situations that the Prosecutor’s Office raises and of course we will deal with this and any other requests related to the case.
Yes, we know that on Wednesday, December 27, the Santa Marta Health Secretariat took some samples. We are confident that the samples will yield the same results as those that Zuana took privately and very regularly, as required by law. All water samples taken so far have returned clean and therefore the hotel continues its services.
There have never been any samples that did not meet the standards that must be met in these cases.
We received a call from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and I personally contacted the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. We haven’t had any special requests yet. But we will persist and use this as an opportunity to reiterate that we are certainly paying attention to the calls made by the Prosecutor’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office and other organizations.
After death they were given full cooperation and of course all protocols were activated accordingly and these protocols never failed. However, we feel that the family must deal with a personal matter at this time, I insist that we are in solidarity and attentive to their needs.
The pool is currently open to the public as it meets all standards required by law. Let’s not forget that this pool has a maximum depth of 1.40 meters by law, and the pool does not present any danger to the public at the moment.
