Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX, responded to anger Tom Cruise for what Mission Impossible: Death Sentence – Part 1 It will only be in US theaters with IMAX screens for one week. Then it will be replaced Oppenheimer.
The actor was reportedly upset that the Christopher Nolan film would be on IMAX screens for three weeks, taking away space from Mission Impossible: Death Sentence – Part 1 just seven days after the premiere.
He commented on this in an interview Diversitywhere he refers to Tom Cruise replacing his film with Oppenheimer and the possibility that after those three weeks he could return to IMAX screens.
“I’m sad that I can’t fit both productions. I know that mission impossible 7 it will be a great movie. And Nolan holds a special place in our hearts because he uses our cameras and promotes us. It’s not about which feature film makes the most money. I hope in three weeks Oppenheimer, Mission impossible come back,” he explained.
Why is Tom Cruise angry?
Reporting Tom Cruise’s anger is due to the release of two high-profile films at the same time Mission Impossible: Death Sentence – Part 1. Oppenheimer And Barbie. All of them will arrive in July, and there will be only a week between productions.
But it turns out that after the premiere Dogma, Nolan and Warner have parted ways over strategic disagreements about film releases during the pandemic. Now that it’s at Universal, Warners could watch the premiere Barbie an opportunity to symbolically collect some debt, wreaking havoc on the summer blockbuster release schedule.
In the middle is Tom Cruise, who, like Nolan, is an advocate for the cinematic experience when watching movies and doesn’t want any other production, from his own studio or others, to ruin that opportunity.
