Just over three years after the last time, we are finally returning to Westeros. The legendary West Continent of the world, imagined by George RR Martin – already immense theater of the epic events told in the series of records Game of Thrones / Game of Thrones – it will, in fact, be the setting for a whole new story, albeit preceding the one told in the cult HBO: the story of the dreaded House Targaryen, the dynasty at the center of the long-awaited House of the Dragon. Here are the official photos from the series’ London premiere, which was held on August 15.

Inspired by the novel “Fire and Blood” by co-creator and executive producer George RR Martin, and 200 years before the events mentioned in the parent series, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON debuts August 22 exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW: the appointment is every Monday on Sky Atlantic, for ten weeks, with the original version simultaneously subtitled with US at 3:00 a.m. and repeated at 10:15 p.m., and from August 29 with the Italian version at 9:15 p.m. hour . Always in double audio, the ten episodes will of course also be available on demand.

The series will focus on an infamous event in Westeros history, the so-called “Dance of the Dragons”, the battle for the Iron Throne succession. When King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) tries to name his young daughter, Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock as a young child, Emma D’Arcy as an adult) his heir, he unleashes a disagreement at court and leads to a bloody civil war: the traditionalists are not ready to see a woman ascend the Iron Throne, as they prefer the king’s younger brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), an unparalleled yet impulsive and unreliable warrior.

Co-created by Martin and showrunners Ryan J. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, House of the Dragon features a stellar cast that includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans. Also starring Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn. The author of the iconic Game of Thrones original score, Ramin Djawadi (Westworld), returns to the soundtrack.
