After deleting batgirland after the film’s directors revealed that they no longer have access to the film’s shooting footage, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the Warner Bros. holds “funeral” screenings for the cast and group who worked on the project.

Funeral screenings of Batgirl are held before the feature film footage is completely stolen and taken from Warner Bros. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah recently spoke about the inability to access the footage. Here are the words of Billal Fallah:

At some point, Adil calls me and tells me to bring all the material with the phone, and when I went to the server I found that it was blocked. There was no way to access the film anymore. And we were like ‘holy shit, all those Batman scenes we can’t keep!’

The two directors spoke of the film’s cancellation as follows:

It wasn’t a question of creativity, the actors or the quality of the film. We were in the middle of editing and there was still a lot of work to be done. The film wasn’t finished yet, but we were told that there had been a change of strategy and that they needed to save some money.
