After a 1968 adaptation that became a cult, Sony Photos has decided to revive a barbarellaalso choose the protagonist: we are talking about Sydney Sweeney. The production is still in its early stages and the director, producers and writers have not been notified.
Sydney Sweeney herself shared a post via Instagram announcing her participation in the film about Barbarella. His words were “It’s time to save the universe”.

Actress Sydney Sweeney has become a big name for Sony Pictures as the artist will star in Madame Web alongside Dakota Johnson. On television, Sweeney has previously appeared in The White Lotus and Euphoria, performances that earned her an Emmy Award nomination.
Recall that Barbarella is a comic book series created by Jean-Claude Forest, and it was adapted for film in 1968 by director Roger Vadim, giving Jane Fonda the role of the space heroine. Although the film did not achieve a major box office success at the time, it later gained cult status.
