Yesterday the new director of Sheet, who will play Yann Demange (who has already worked on Lovecraft Country, among other things). And today there is news about the production of the feature film, which has already been labeled as the darkest production of the Marvel movie universe.

According to Deadine’s Justin Kroll and for Borys Kit, the central reason for Blade will be a certain dark vibe. The first revealed that “Kevin Feige intends to give the feature film the darkest tone ever seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe”. While Kit stated:

The intention is to create a dark and raw film, moving to the edge of the Marvel Universe and infusing the new Blade with the atmospheres of the trilogy created by New Line Cinema.

And that is precisely why the engagement as screenwriter of Mike Starrbury seems to have started, who recently made his first statements.

I’m lucky enough to work with an incredible team,” he wrote on Twitter. “I know there are so many Blade fans out there and we’re doing our best to bring you a movie you’ll love.

Stacy Osei-Kuffour had previously been brought on board to work on the Blade script, and Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo was later hired. Former Blade actor Wesley Snipes also spoke about work on his Blade script some time ago. Here are his words:

We wrote two scripts with my team. We have two versions of a story set in the world of Blade. But since we haven’t been given the keys to re-entering that narrative universe, we’ve decided to redirect the projects to something else.

The project’s previous director, Bassam Tariq, had said of the new Blade:

What excites me about the new movie that we’re going to do is the fact that there’s no Blade canon, like when you read the comics and stuff. The fact that he’s going to be a day is the only thing that’s already set, and then we can’t take away everything Wesley Snipes did, because he started everything. A black man created the universe as we know it, and that’s the truth. It is a great honor for me to work with someone as talented as Mahershala Ali and screenwriter Stacy Osei-Kuffour. They are real talents.

After the feature film was originally slated for a 2023 release, it was later moved to 2024.
