If you were a gamer in early 2010, then you know very well that 1080p and 60fps was the ideal standard. With Full HD resolution and 60 frames per second, any gamer can be happy, he has reached the top.

This standard has changed so much that in a decade monitors have evolved at the same rate as graphics cards (which are finally starting to get cheaper) and processors (and if not, then tell us about the recently introduced Ryzen 7000).

Now, all cheap gaming laptops come standard with at least 144Hz screens., and mid-range office monitors don’t go below 75Hz with vertical sync technologies. Real computing is hertz, and the more, the better.

But now, NVIDIA and ASUS decided to break the deck by announcing the world’s first monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate and G-Sync technology. This is the fastest gaming monitor in the world. Now we need to find a video card that can squeeze all the juice out of it.

The monitor in question is called the ASUS ROG Swift 500 Hz and its strong point is its refresh rate of 500 images per second. Its downsides are panel quality and resolution, which makes sense since this is the first model they’re launching.

We say this because we are facing a monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, when the sector already jumps to 4K without hesitation, and since the panel is made with TN technology, therefore, excellent color reproduction and outstanding viewing angles are to be expected.

Price and launch of the world’s fastest monitor

In his favor The 500Hz refresh rate is the highest ever., surpassing the previous commendable 360Hz with G-Sync. Looks like we missed the expected 480Hz.

Neither NVIDIA nor ASUS have revealed a release date or price for this new monitor. But presumably it won’t be cheap.. Regardless, its 24-inch size and Full HD resolution will certainly keep a bit of the starting price going. We look forward to his analysis.
