AAA tested both old (2017-2018) and new (2024) versions of three cars – Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue and Subaru Outback – at different speeds. The results showed that the new models significantly outperformed the old models; 100% of 2024 vehicles avoided collisions, compared to 51% for older models.

But while AEB has made progress in preventing frontal crashes, it still struggles with other types of crashes, such as side impacts, especially from the left.
