The future of entertainment is graphics engines, these are tools with which creators and designers can create worlds from scratch, but with an application that gives them models, laws of gravity, structures, light reflections in real time.
The graphics engines being developed now have great potential, both for creating video games (historically speaking, their main task), and for the world of cinema. I don’t know if you remember the show they did with The Matrix a few months ago.
A new video shared by Atmoph on YouTube is Japanese company that produces unique smart displays Atmoph Window, shows a beautiful view of The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 demo created for the film’s promotional video.
These footage was shot from selected locations with original Atmoph compositions and camera angles by Petri Levälahti, an internationally active video game photographer.
This seemingly real city is a 3DCG virtual city built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. The City Sampler is a downloadable demo from Epic Games that shows how the city scene from The Awakening Matrix: The Unreal Engine 5 Experience was created.
A video consisting of a city with buildings, vehicles and many metahuman characters, made more realistic thanks to Unreal Engine 5 features such as “Lumen”, which allows you to display ambient light in detail, and “NANITE”, which creates games and worlds with a huge amount of geometric detail.
If you carefully watch the video, then you can really notice a trap a littlebut at first, any untrained eye will fall into the trap and think that this is a real video of the city, and not a demo of the graphics engine.
The trick is in the actual camera movements and the light, especially the light. Since it reflects and illuminates windows, roads and puddles. Judging by what we see, photorealism is very close.
