When we talk about video cards we usually only think of NVIDIA and AMD. There is no one to blame for this, except for the gaming market that has given us these two options for decades. But now that Intel has entered the scene, we have a new manufacturer GPUs. And the promise of Intel Arc.
Only a few days left before the release of new Intel Arc graphics cards for desktop computers. Arc A770 and Arc A750with a release date of October 12, which clearly coincides with the launch of the Nvidia RTX 4090.
And while until now we’ve only had the design chosen by Intel for the production of their graphics cards, now Acer has announced that it will be producing its own Intel Arc A770 model. And, truth, design utterly original.
Naturally, this is a gaming GPU, and it will be branded as Acer Predator BiFrost. And this refers to the fact that this card has two fans. And the most interesting? These are two completely different types of fans.

As you have no doubt already seen in the image, The Predator BiFrost is equipped with a large conventional RGB-lit GPU fan. at one end of the map and with a second smaller fan is in the center.
This second fan is called the “fan” and has already been seen on the NVIDIA RTX 2000 Founders Edition and AMD RX 5000 cards. And although each type of fan is distributed separately, we have not yet seen them together.
Acer graphics card cooling under consideration
We have never seen such a GPU. Fan cards have fallen out of favor in favor of open fan designs. While the latter usually have two or three large fans and an exposed heatsink, the former have a closed housing that removes the remaining thermal air directly from the rear entry / exit of the card.
However, open air fan designs are usually better as they provide more heat dissipation, although some of that residual heat ends up circulating inside the PC.
Given the sheer power of the RTX 4000 series, it’s no surprise that NVIDIA’s manufacturing partners have opted for an open configuration. Nonetheless, Less powerful GPUs like the Intel A770 make the fan approach more viable.
note that the fan is located almost directly above the GPU SoC, where most of the heat is generated. We believe this means that the fan draws most of the residual heat away from the back of the card, while the large fan plays a supporting role.
Apart from the thermal performance, it is an attractive design. And it’s a must-have product for Acer, which is entering a very competitive space in the GPU market. So far, no one else has announced their Intel Arc.
Without the RTX 4060, a very big hole opened up for Intel. If the performance is the same as the price, the American company can gain a foothold in the gaming market thanks to Intel Arc.
