Apple seems to have solved one of the main shortcomings of its MagSafe Battery compatible with iPhone 12 and iPhone 13; known as the MagSafe rechargeable battery. Cupertino Company released a new firmware update this slightly increases the charging speed, leaving aside the meager 5 watts of maximum power that it has allowed so far.

The new update, which comes out as 2.7 (or 2.7.b.0), increase power to 7.5 W, as Apple confirms on its website. This results in a slightly faster download speed than what external battery when supplying a battery to the iPhone autonomously.

To get 7.5W charging on the go, update your MagSafe battery to the latest firmware. The firmware update starts automatically when the battery is connected to iPhone. The firmware update may take about a week.
