Marvel, in the promotion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesstries in every possible way to avoid leaks and spoilers as it happened before Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it’s going pretty well too; the images of the upcoming new movie dedicated to the Sorcerer Supreme also reflect this concern.
It was basically a preview focused on what should be one of the first scenes of the film, or at least moments already seen in the trailers, but in an extended version, and without any particular surprises. However, if you want to avoid spoilers, however minor, then read no further!
At the beginning of the film, Strange America will meet Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) within his “standard” reality. Tormented by her interdimensional powers, the girl is chased by an alien monster that is chasing her across New York: it’s the Gargantos we saw in the trailers, whom Strange will defeat with a clever move.
The scene shifts to the wedding of Christine Palmer, Strange’s love… but the woman joins someone else at the altar.
Still, Wong asks Strange to find someone else with magical powers to recover a fundamental artifact: Stephen’s choice, of course, falls on Wanda, who, however, has withdrawn into private life and isn’t exactly easy to convince.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda “Scarlet Witch” Maximoff), Benedict Wong (Wong) and Xochitl Gomez (America Chavez) are the four main characters of the film, which will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Stühlbarg and Rachel. McAdams… more surprises, it seems.
