Just during the promotion of Sonic the hedgehog 2 the translator Jim Carrey revealed he was considering quitting film and acting, and fans then started thinking about what would become of him dr. Robotnikbut the Sonic producers have made it clear that, in the event that Carrey leaves, there will be no reshuffle.

Jim Carrey will always be a member of Sonic’s family and there will always be room for him. He is a very special person and what he has done with Robotnik is unbelievable. We love him and we will be by his side as long as he is willing to share his path with us. But we think he loves Robotnik so much that he doesn’t want to deviate from the character. And then we would never try to rearrange.
Sonic 2 was released in theaters yesterday, April 7. Directed again by Jeff Fowler, the film sees the return of James Marsden and Ben Schwartz as the voices of Sonic, as well as Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, with Shemar Moore as the new entry. Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
