Michael Bay has stated that he would only direct a Marvel movie under certain conditions, while he has expressed his willingness to make an episode of the TV series Yellowstone During a question-and-answer session, the director made this disclosure to Collider.
Here are his words:
You know, I wouldn’t want to do something like Star Wars 5 because the hardest and most important thing for a director is to create worlds, and I love to create worlds. But directing Yellowstone would be nice. Horses, Cowboy Hats and Beautiful Scenery is a great TV series.
Recall that Paramount has formalized Yellowstone’s renewal for a fifth season. Yellowstone 5 sees the return of Kevin Costner and the main cast. So there would be a chance to see Michael Bay direct an episode, at least given that the show still has a future and spin-offs are already in development.
About Michael Bay and cinecoms, the director said:
It’s not that he isn’t interested in Marvel movies, but, as Ridley Scott says, the hardest and most fun thing for a director is creating a world. I’m not the kind of person who would enter the George Lucas universe to make a Star Wars 5, it’s not me, I wouldn’t make Iron Man 7 or Batman 10. I want to do my own thing. I’d love to do something with superheroes, but I’d like to do it on my terms, create my world.
