macOS Sonoma beta users have launched various games on their Mac with Apple Silicon thanks to the Game Porting Tool. It allows you to transfer Windows games to Mac without editing the code.

You can already find many examples of popular games on Mac on Reddit. Among them: Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, Hogwarts Legacy, Spider-Man (2018), Sonic Omens, Elden Ring and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake.

For example, Cyberpunk 2077 runs on a MacBook Pro with an M1 and 16GB of RAM on ultra settings at about 15 FPS.

The same game with the same settings, but on the M2 Max chip it already gives out 40 FPS.

Interestingly, if you lower the graphics settings, then Cyberpunk 2077 will still run at a maximum of 40 FPS.

The Witcher 3 with DirectX 12 also produces a maximum of 40 FPS on the M1 Pro processor. But with DirectX 11 and a high graphics setting, the game runs at 48-50 FPS. At the same time, the MacBook Pro heats up to an average of 65 degrees and does not turn on the fans.

Users found that FPS was detected not with hardware (there is enough of it), but with rendering. All games have been ported without any optimization. In addition, they do not use macOS Sonoma Game Mode, which boosts processor performance in games, while running.
