The Federal Passenger Company (FPK), a subsidiary of Russian Railways, has shown a new interior of a luxury car (SV). It is about design in long-distance trains.

FPK showed a new interior of SV wagons on long-distance trains

The shelves will be stacked one on top of the other so that the seating arrangement is upright. FPC will also add the concept of an adjacent compartment: two adjacent compartments will be connected by a lockable door.

“Passengers will be able to lock the door on the side of their compartment and change the space: transform the shelf into a sofa or bed, depending on the time of day,” the FPC said.

The coupe will be equipped with upper shelves increased in width, as well as folding seats. The wagons will have individual safes and tables with built-in sinks. To get to the top shelf, you can use the stairs. The company will also update the color palette in the design of the cars.

The digital version of the project was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The update is scheduled to roll out this year. FPC plans to release around 30 SV cars in a new design.
