Samsung is preparing to release One UI 6.0, an Android 14-based interface, at the end of 2023. However, some popular South Korean branded devices may not receive the OS update.

The list includes the Galaxy S20 series premium models and Galaxy S20 FE 4G. These phones were released before Samsung adopted a four-year policy of firmware updates, as with phones released from 2021.

Which Galaxy phones will NOT get Android 14?

According to the Samsung versions prior to the firmware support change, the devices that will not be updated with One UI 6.0 are:

  • galaxy s10 lite
  • Galaxy S20 FE 4G
  • Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Galaxy Note 10 Lite
  • Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip (LTE/5G)
  • Galaxy Z Fold 2
  • Galaxy A22 (LTE/5G)
  • Galaxy A32 (LTE/5G)
  • Galaxy A51
  • Galaxy A71
  • Galaxy Tab A8
  • Galaxy Tab A7 Lite
  • Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020)
  • Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Tab S7+

Although these phones and tablets cannot get Android 14, Samsung offers a one-year support guarantee for security patches. In other words, devices will continue to be protected with occasional updates.

Galaxy S21 FE will continue to receive Android updates.

Which Galaxy phones will get Android 14?

Samsung’s four-year firmware update policy All high-end models of the Galaxy S21 series. The rule also applies to certain mid-range mobiles such as the S21 FE and Galaxy A series released from 2021.

As mentioned, the One UI 6.0 interface should be released by the end of this year. The first to receive the Android 14 update will be the Galaxy S23 series smartphones. Next up are the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

The brand is expected to release the software for older Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones after updating the 2023 models. Next, the novelty should reach Galaxy A-series devices.
