VKontakte CEO Marina Krasnova said in an interview with SPIEF that the VK NFT service, which allows users to transfer their digital assets to the platform, has already reached more than 3.7 million users since its launch in December.
With the help of the VK NFT service, users can link their digital assets such as pictures and videos to their profiles. These assets can be used as an avatar or viewed in a windowed profile. To do this, simply connect your crypto wallet to the service.
Marina Krasnova noted that VK NFT is gradually expanding its capabilities, starting with the basic functions to attract users. He also mentioned that there is a lot of interest from brands who want to learn more about how the service works and how to make NFT discounts (sales of unique collections of NFTs) with the service.
Non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital certificate based on blockchain technology that proves ownership of a virtual asset. It could be unique digital art, games, or even social media posts. The peculiarity of NFTs is that they cannot be imitated, which makes them valuable and in demand.
