The court fined the Telegram and Viber messengers for not deleting false information. For Viber, this is the first fine in such a case. Also, once again, the Wikimedia Foundation was fined. Several other companies, including Kinopoisk, Apple and PADI Americas Inc. International Association of Scuba Diving Instructors, are facing fines after reviewing the protocols.
- Telegram was fined 4 million rubles for not removing 32 channels with information about the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, which was considered unreliable. The judge pointed out that even if the messenger’s representatives do not show up at the meetings, they always pay fines.
- The Viber messenger received its first fine in such a case, it will have to pay 1 million rubles for not removing information about hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, which was also considered unreliable. The fact that protocols were drawn up for both couriers became known at the beginning of the month.
- The Wikimedia Foundation received another fine, this time for failing to remove a video with an example hook from Wikipedia. The fund will have to pay 1.5 million rubles.
A few more companies are awaiting court consideration and decisions.
- For the first time at Apple the protocol was drawn up in order not to remove “fakes”. The organization faces a fine of up to 4 million rubles, the date for consideration has not yet been set.
- Service “Kinopoisk” threatens to suspend work for 90 days. A protocol has been drawn up against the company for promoting LGBT scenes among minors. The materials were received by the Zamoskvoretsky court. It is not yet known when the case will be known. Sanctions under Part 2 of Article 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provide for a temporary suspension of work or a fine of up to 4 million rubles.
- In addition, on June 20, the Tagansky Court in Moscow will consider the protocol against the International Association of Diving Instructors PADI Americas Inc. The organization is suspected of extracting personal data from Russian citizens and faces fines of up to 6 million rubles.
The day before, Yandex received a fine. The organization did not provide, at the request of the Federal Security Service, the data of Yandex.Uslug users.
