VK bought the right to rent the Singer House in St. Petersburg from Alfa-Bank. The VKontakte office is now located there.
The corporation became 100% owner of CJSC Zinger, the company said in a statement. According to Delovoy Petersburg, the value of the transaction amounted to 2.3 billion rubles.
Since 2010, the building has housed the headquarters of the social network owned by VK.
“Singer” in 1999 entered into an agreement with Smolny to lease the building for 49 years. The object is recognized as a federal monument, it is impossible to redeem it completely. The agreement is valid until 2048. Thus, VK will be able to use the building for 25 years.
