Most Russian lawyers are in favor of AI regulation, according to the results of the Moscow Digital School study. The community believes that the use of artificial intelligence carries many risks, including reputational and copyright.

Majority of lawyers in Russia supported AI regulation

More than 60% of the lawyers who participated in the study of the educational platform Moscow Digital School consider it necessary to introduce a legislative regulation of AI. RB.RU became acquainted with the results of the study.

The legal community points out the risks associated with the use of AI. The most significant are disputes related to the use of copyright (77.1% of respondents), reputational risks due to the provision of low-quality services (50.8%), the probability of disclosure of confidential information and reliance on AI technologies (40.3%). %).

Experts consider it necessary to adopt laws related to the regulation of the use of AI and the introduction of a legal definition of artificial intelligence and related solutions.

75% of the experts surveyed are confident that ChatGPT will not be able to replace lawyers. Only 3.6% of respondents are absolutely sure otherwise.

The study was conducted among 500 lawyers from large Russian IT companies dealing with intellectual property.
