Earlier, MTS announced the release of a smart speaker with a voice assistant called “Marvin”, but the project was closed. Now the operator is working on a new project, but it will take time to create a quality product.
However, experts doubt the success of MTS in the smart speaker market. The Russian market is already occupied by such leading players as Yandex, VK and Sberbank. They have a well-established ecosystem across multiple platforms, including smartphones, desktops, and marketplaces.
MTS, on the other hand, does not have such an ecosystem, which makes it difficult to successfully promote the product.
So, Evgeny Kharitonov, editor-in-chief of Ferra.ru, noted that existing smart speakers do not provide close interaction with other devices, such as smartphones and computers.
As such, MTS may have a hard time competing with established players in the smart speaker market. However, the company continues to work on a new project and may offer unique solutions to consumers in the future.
