OpenAI and the Associated Press have reached an agreement: developer ChatGPT’s neural networks will teach how to write news in archived news agency materials. Collaboration between companies will help identify ethical use cases for generative AI.

OpenAI will use Associated Press materials to train neural networks for news writing

OpenAI will have access to Associated Press materials to use in training its neural networks. The companies have signed a two-year agreement under which they will develop a partnership, according to Axios.

A ChatGPT developer will be able to use the 1985 AP file. OpenAI believes that working with AP will help improve the utility of enterprise services and help define ethical use cases for generative artificial intelligence.
