LG Electronics intends to introduce advertising and subscription to its home appliances.

This is part of a plan to raise global annual revenue from $51 billion to nearly $79 billion by 2030. The company is installing on webOS, which runs smart TVs – it will be implemented in other equipment.

Subscriptions will also play a dominant role in LG’s home appliance portfolio. Obviously, some features are available without an active subscription.

According to the press release, “The goal is to further develop the LG ThinQ UP device, which keeps you updated with features you need even after purchases.” [The Verge]
