The 2007 first-generation iPhone with 4 GB of physical memory was sold at auction by London Capital Group for $158.6 thousand, an all-time record auction price for this Apple smartphone model, Neowin reports.

The sold lot was sealed in its original packaging, the smartphone has never been used. With all the commissions and fees, the iPhone cost the buyer $190,000, which is more than 300 times its cost in the store in 2007, when the smartphone was released.

The final price of the lot is also three times the price of other similar lots sold in previous auctions. It should be noted that the iPhone sold belonged to one of the Apple engineers who worked on its creation.

The 2007 iPhone with 4 GB of memory is especially popular with collectors. Apple quickly discontinued the model due to the fact that customers began to buy a model with 8 GB of physical memory more often.
