This is the day of ordinary images from smartphone cameras, which has the status of astronomy day. The compact, book-sized Hestia sensor of the French company Vaonis is responsible for compensating for this shortcoming and using smartphones to take high-quality pictures of the starry sky.
Hestia’s dimensions are 17 x 25 x 5.5 cm, weight – 500 gr. The 30mm lens has six lines (three groups of two lines each). When light enters the lens, it is focused by prisms on the smartphone’s camera matrix. For this reason, there is a high level of security, and I do not see the operator’s smartphone.
The app also offers an interactive memory map that contains clues to the location of the most interesting celestial objects to explore. To observe the Sun, Hestia is equipped with a light filter.
