These powerful chips will be designed for several Mac models at once. This was said by a popular Bloomberg insider, Mark Gurman.
It claims that the M3 Pro and M3 Max will be used not only on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, but also on the Mac mini. However, the exact specifications of these processors have not yet been discussed.
Both SoCs will be Apple’s first high-performance chips manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process.
However, according to reports, TSMC is only able to achieve a chip efficiency of 55% in such an advanced process, which could lead to a limited processor supply after its official launch.
As a reminder, Gurman previously revealed that Apple is working on a 12-core processor with an 18-core GPU and support for up to 36GB of combined RAM. However, these features are for the M3 Pro, there is no information about the M3 Max yet.
