State Duma deputy from the “United Russia” Anton Gorelkin allowed to ban registration on Russian sites using foreign e-mail. This follows from the draft amendments to the laws “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection” and “On Communications” prepared by Gorelkin.
The amendments provide for the registration on Russian websites of possible options:
▪️ By the phone number of the Russian operator
▪️ Through the ESIA system from the State Services
▪️ Through the Unified Biometric System
▪️ With the help of another information system
The “other information system” refers to Russian e-mail and other services, such as VKontakte.
The bill will be considered by the State Duma today in the second reading. If adopted, it will enter into force on December 1, 2023. [Ведомости]
