Microsoft wants Chrome users to be able to easily switch to Microsoft Edge and do so at any time. According to the portal Latest version of WindowsThe company, under the leadership of Satya Nadella, has launched a new feature that allows you to constantly transferring data present in the Google browser to the default Windows browser. This data includes browsing history, passwords, cookies, payment methods, and even tabs and extensions.
The truth is that Microsoft has already allowed the transfer of some data from Chrome to its browser to make it easier for users to migrate. In fact, Edge displayed a notification about the availability of this feature when the user accessed the application. The difference, in this case, is that now the ability to transfer data from Chrome to Microsoft Edge is available, practically, at any time and automatically. That is, it will appear whenever the user opens the browser.
The ability to transfer data from Chrome to Microsoft Edge, yes, is only available for two specific options: open tabs and settings. This means that the Microsoft browser will automatically open the tabs that the user has opened in Chrome. The same will be done with the settings. In any case, both options can be disabled through the browser settings, in the option Import browser data > Import browser data from Google Chrome on every launch.
Microsoft Edge also makes it easy to transfer other data from Chrome.
Edge, Microsoft’s browser, also allows you to transfer other data from Chrome. Among them; in bookmarks, passwords, autofill, payment methods, browsing history, cookies. Extensions coming soon too. The user can choose which options he wants or does not want to send. Also turn off data transfer if you don’t want Edge to update with the same settings as Chrome every time you open it.
Although this feature is intended to make it easier to switch from one browser to another, it can be useful to leave it enabled, for example, to access the content we have opened in Chrome if the Google app is not working properly. Microsoft will also improve Edge in the coming weeks with new features such as the ability to drag and drop tab groups or add multiple languages to favorites.
