Starting Monday, select Netflix subscribers in Canada and the UK were able to experience streaming Netflix video games on select TVs, TV-connected devices, and on Netflix.com.
This move could be a pivotal moment in the company’s passion for gaming.
Online cinema first rolled out its own mobile game offerings as a free benefit for subscribers in November 2021. Now with cloud streaming, subscribers will be able to play Netflix games in more places.
It could also mean that Netflix will start competing for game time on TVs and PCs.
Two games are currently available: Oxenfree (made by Night School Studio, now owned by Netflix) and the new game Molehew’s Mining Adventure.
When playing on TV, the games are controlled using your smartphone. If you have access to the games on the site, you will be able to play them using your mouse and keyboard.
