The digital ruble has started piloting in Russia. Several banks have successfully completed initial transactions with him, including transfers between individuals, charitable contributions, and payments for goods. This experiment is carried out within the framework of the Bank of Russia project.

The first group of participants consists of 600 people and 30 businesses in different cities, among which banks such as Alfa-Bank, VTB, GPB and others. They are testing different functions of the digital ruble. For example, VTB tested real-time account opening in digital rubles, transfers between people and paying for goods via a QR code.

Experts also focus on the security and reliability of this new system. Consideration is also given to the possibility of using smart contracts for more complex transactions. Banks emphasize that all calculations with digital rubles are made using cryptographic protection and encryption.

The introduction of the digital ruble is still in pilot mode, access to it is limited to a limited number of users. But such tests will help to identify potential problems and make the system more stable before it is fully booted.
