WhatsApp this Thursday (17) launched a new update that lets you send photos in high resolution. HD photo sharing is available directly from the messenger and allows you to send higher quality images.
The suggestion of the messenger is precisely to give users an extra option when sharing images. Available for Android, iOS users and the web version of the platform from today, the main action of users is to update the application to use the innovation.
However, the application itself has some warnings to the user when sharing high resolution photos. The main one shows such images take up more space in mobile phone storage:
- normal photos: Bring 1280 x 960 resolution;
- HD photos: Bring in 4000 x 3000 resolution.
However, the new feature will make life easier for those who need to share high-resolution photos, for example, by sending them directly from WhatsApp, without using cloud services such as Google Drive.
How to use the new feature?
To send photos in HD resolution on WhatsApp, in case of use on mobile devices, you must first update the application. The new functionality is already available to all users as of today, but there may be some delays in the release that should be gradual.
Then do the traditional way of sharing an image:
1. Tap camera or share icon in individual or group chat;
2. Select a high resolution image from the mobile phone gallery;
2. Tap the “HD” button that will appear at the top of the screen and select the “High definition” option;
4. Upload the image.
After a short time, the application displays a pop-up message stating that the image selected to be sent is in high resolution. In the app itself, higher quality images will also have an “HD” icon in the lower right corner.
It is also possible to share high-resolution images photographed instantly.. Simply open the camera from within the app, take a photo, and select the “HD” option when sharing with someone. For those who buy images, it is also possible to choose to download them in standard resolution or higher quality.
For now, only high-resolution photos can be shared through the application. HE Technology World found, “coming soon”, WhatsApp will also let you send videos in higher resolution directly from the apphowever, the feature does not yet have a scheduled release date.
