According to TechCrunch, anonymous groups will have a six-member limit, unlike named groups that can have up to 1,024 members.
Also, WhatsApp will automatically create temporary names for anonymous groups based on their members. For example, if Rocco and Li-Chen are in chat, the group might be named “Rocco and Li-Chen”.
Depending on how members save each other’s contacts, the group name may look different for each member.
The innovation is expected to roll out to users worldwide in the next few weeks.
