The problem was the withdrawal of money for goods from cards that users previously deleted from their personal accounts. This application was found in the rules of use of the trading platform.
Rospotrebnadzor emphasized that such behavior on the Internet platform is against the law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”. Conditions that allow the collector to unilaterally change the terms of liability are considered unacceptable.
The agency also stated that Wildberries is not a credit institution and does not have the right to delete funds without customers’ consent.
By meeting Rospotrebnadzor’s requirements, the court recognized that the actions on the market were illegal and required the company to stop withdrawing funds using the payment data of cards removed from users’ personal accounts.
