The designer of children’s flying devices Franky Zapata announced the creation of the Airscooter. This is a special version of a new type of cargo-passenger drone, turned into a one-person transportation. According to the data presented, it can be in the air for up to 2 hours, but it is not possible to verify this – so far only the layout and renders have been processed, and not the current prototype.
The air scooter looks like an egg-shaped capsule on supports, over which are eight beams with many propellers. Among them there are large ones, almost a meter in diameter, for creating lift, and small ones for maneuvering. The device has a similar tail in plates, and flies about a helicopter, tilting the body down and forward.

Zapata spoke about the hybrid power scheme, but did not elaborate on the details of its design. Judging by the images, most likely, large screws spin the internal combustion engine or its equivalent, small screws are powered by electric motors. They are included only to correct the position of the machine in the air, which saves energy. The cruising speed of the device is 80 km/h, the maximum is 100 km/h.
Weighing only 115kg, the Airscooter is considered a method of light aviation and therefore does not require flying school exams to operate. Nothing is known about the cost of the device and the timing of the start of its sale.
