A leak from electronics company MSI has revealed details about Intel’s 14th generation processors. The new CPU lineup will not have major architectural changes and will only be 3% (on average) faster than the 13th generation.
The information was apparently unintentionally leaked in a video posted on MSI’s YouTube channel. The production showed a card with some features of the processors codenamed Raptor Lake-S Refresh.
Intel’s next wave of GPUs will only increase the number of cores in the i7-14700K series. While the i7-13700K has 8 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, i7-14700K will have 8 performance and 12 efficiency. The difference will allow the next version to be 17% faster than the latest models.
As the screenshot above shows, the i5-14600K will have 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores (same amount as i5-13600K) and the i9-14900K will have 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores (same amount as i9-13900K).
Intel’s 14th generation processors will have the same 10nm structure as previous generations. As an improvement, the new parts will support higher DDR5 frequencies.
Intel should officially announce its Raptor Lake-S Refresh processors at Innovation 2023 in September this year.
