The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation is going to tighten the conditions for the inclusion of national software in the registry. In the list, the software must be compatible with at least two Russian operating systems and processors in the registry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The new rules are scheduled to be approved this year, but will come into force gradually from 2023, Kommersant writes.
Conditions can increase costs for developers, and if the requirements are too stringent and resource-intensive for them, someone may not register the software or even remove it, market participants say.
- As of January 1, 2016, Russian developers can apply and register in the national software registry. S4 Consulting CEO Aigul Shadrina explained to RB.RU what Russian IT gets from this and how to get into the registry, and also shared samples of the documents needed to apply.
