A representative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service told Vedomosti that the department began to receive complaints from subscribers about the paid distribution of the Internet from their devices.
We are talking about the modem mode, which is used to share traffic from one device to another. So, starting from April of this year, many MTS customers began to force a fee of 49 rubles for 50 GB per day of distribution, if they need this function.
The new conditions affected a number of archival tariffs with unlimited Internet and “it is more profitable to distribute traffic”. However, now the conditions have begun to operate with other tariffs.
As explained in MTS technical support, this amount should be paid to me by subscribers who do not have any additional Internet packages connected. If the client additionally has a Premium package connected (for 249 rubles per month), out of the 50 GB of Internet included in it, you can distribute 30 GB. You can also activate the “Modem mode” service for 199 rubles per month and use it to distribute up to 100 GB of Internet. Owners of archive tariffs can distribute only 50 MB for free.
Beeline reported that they have had a paid Internet distribution since 2019. The fee has not changed since then.
Operators are optimizing their tariff lines in conditions of low noise levels and limited access to equipment. With restrictions and additional fees for this option, the operator is able to reduce costs, continue and maintain their networks for most subscribers.
In the future, I do not support the introduction of subscription fees and other previously free or shareware options and services. Operators will also adjust current services, prices will be adjusted upwards.

This summer, some Tele2 subscribers also complained that they could no longer distribute the Internet for free. The new tariffs have a paid option for 30 rubles per day or 100 rubles per month.
At MegaFon, the distribution of the Internet is also paid – the corresponding option costs 90 rubles for 30 days. However, we note that it is paid not in all subscribers, in many archived or current ones, but issued about a year ago, the option remains acceptable.
The FAS noted that if violations are found among the operators, then measures will be taken. [РБК]
