Russia experienced 2.3% of the total number of DDoS attacks in the world in the second quarter of 2023, placing it in ninth place among all countries. This information is provided by Garda, a company specializing in information security.
Although the exact number of attacks against Russia has not been announced, Garda emphasized that the attacks have doubled compared to the first quarter of 2023. Other security companies saw similar growth, including Qrator Labs, which recorded a 40% increase in attacks and DDoS-Guard, which recorded a 28% increase in the second quarter.
According to Garda, the US carried out the most DDoS attacks (35.5% of the total), with China in second place with 10%. It is worth noting that the number of DDoS attacks carried out from Russian territory decreased from 3.09% in the first quarter to 2.11% in the second quarter. The leaders of these unsavory statistics are China (38%), India (24%) and South Korea (10%).
