Advertising messages promoting the Bing search engine even appeared on top of game titles, ignoring notification settings. This campaign caused dissatisfaction among users and was ultimately withdrawn, as confirmed by Microsoft representatives.
Messages reminiscent of the benefits of using Bing, such as AI chat and Microsoft Rewards, appeared in the lower-right corner of the desktop, taking up space above all apps and games.
These notifications were associated with a background process called “BGAUpsell.EXE” that is part of Microsoft Bing Service 2.0.
According to the curious, these pop-up messages may have been triggered if the Microsoft Edge browser has not been used in the last 48 hours.
