The MTS Irteya subsidiary will create 4G/5G base stations for mobile communications with OpenRAN open architecture. The company plans to invest in the project 5.6 billion rubles and receive another 5.4 billion of budget financing in the period 2023-2026.
The launch is scheduled for September 2024. By June 2026 it is planned to start serial production of up to 20 thousand units a year, Vedomosti reported.
Konstantin Ankilov, managing partner of TMT Consulting, believes that Irteya will produce base stations for MTS tasks, the scale of the project will already depend on the maturity of the product.
Until the end of 2022, Irteya, according to SPARK-Interfax, was called MTS Electronics. It was registered on March 17, 2021, is 100% owned by the operator MTS and is led by Marat Ibragimov.
