The dramatic events were closely followed by NASA experts. On August 22, a command was transmitted from the control center to the interplanetary station LRO (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter), located in lunar orbit, to include the LROC camera in order to establish the exact location of the fall of the Russian module.

The LRO, flying over this ill-fated phenomenon, took a series of shots over the course of four hours, allowing them to part with the equipment. In the area of ​​the NASA crater, NASA specialists made light craters with a diameter of 10 m and a depth of 360 m. Kulan G, which was first launched over 400 km on a flat surface Luna-25.
